Week 5 Medifast

Weigh-In update for Monday August 30, 2009Week 5 of my Take Shape For Life Medifast program.

Weight: 170.4 lbs

Week Loss = 1.6 lbs    /   TOTAL LOSS = 13.8 lbs

What’s up with this 1.6 lbs per week loss?! This is the same as last week, and I anticipated a much larger drop now that my bloating and hormone issues have subsided. Wow – this was really disappointing. I know I shouldn’t base everything on the scale, but it seems like my weight loss is really dragging.  I didn’t get to break that 60′s barrier, either. Ugh.

I would be especially bummed out, however if it were not that I am losing a lot of inches. My clothes are decidedly not fitting. I went to a thrift store to get a few items (I figure I better not invest in anything off the rack I might shrink out of too quick) and I was able to purchase a dress size 10 and slacks and skirt size 12. Wow! I started as a loose 16 / tight 14 just 5 weeks ago, so that is significant.

My new months order arrived this past week on Wednesday and it felt like Christmas! Hooray, new food just in time, and a lot of new flavors and product to try. I decided to go with many less shakes, as they are not appealing to me, and I like to CHEW my food. So, this time I ordered extra puff balls, pretzels, bars and chocolate pudding. I also am trying the Chai (love it), and the Chili (not too bad)

 GOALS FOR COMING WEEK:

1. Increase exercising and get at least some walking in at some point in the day

2. Stay on schedule with my meals – this has been a problem the past week, as I have missed mid-morning meals and then had to eat 2 meals later in the day to catch up. This may have slowed down my metabolism.

3. Keep drinking my water – try to keep the ounce level up.

4. Get more sleep – I have had a lot of late nights and have pulled a couple all-nighters the past 2 weeks. It is catching up to me and I don’t feel well.

I hope to be able to create a V-Log and get it uploaded. But, at least for now I will be able to keep you updated.
