WEEK 8 Medifast

OK – I had this grand goal that I would be putting regular updates and photos here of my Medifast journey. I’ve fallen short on that. However, the good news is that I am keeping on track with my Take Shape For Life meal plan and my weight loss continues! Even on my tougher weeks, when I was sure I had “gained”, I’ve lost at least 1.8 lbs minimum. I will try to get photos up as soon as possible.

My start weight was 184.4 on July 27, 2009

As of Monday Sept. 21st, 2009 - WEEK 8 - My weight is 165.0.

Total weight loss of 19.4 Pounds.

I continue to lose even more inches! I started as a size 16, and I am now wearing a size 12 slacks & jeans, and size 10 dresses. I even made it into one of my size 8 dresses on Sunday, which was quite startling. It is just a little tight in the mid-section, so I am holding off wearing it for another week or two.

I have been averaging a 2 pound weight loss. That’s nothing to complain about, HOWEVER, I realize that I can ramp the numbers up big time if I start MOVING more. (I’ve realized this for a long time, but have been less than diligent with exercizing)

New Motivation!

New Motivation!

Monday was my goal to start exercizing seriously daily. Nothing fancy. Just walking. Imagine my excitement when I arrived home from work and found my brand new running shoes I ordered last week waiting for me! IT WAS A SIGN!

So, I laced up and headed out for an intense 45 minute walk with hubby and Joe Dog. We live in a very hilly neighborhood. The shoes fit so perfect and are as light as a feather. The former runner in me was itching to be released – so I started jogging slowly – UPHILL! It was amazing – I had so much energy, and now that I am nearly 20 pounds lighter, I really could do it! I kept going – made it up the entire hill – then decided I would see how long I could just keep jogging, and I pretty much kept the pace the entire 45 minutes. This is a HUGE victory for me. My ultimate goal is to be running again, and now I see this can be a reality. Whoo Hoo!

In other news, my Third Month order is on its way and should arrive on Friday. It’s hard to believe I have been at this for 2 solid months. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that in 8 weeks I haven’t had any bread or cereal or fruit (OK, I had some grapes once, and I had one banana a couple of weeks ago). Amazing that I am not too hungry. I only get cravings when I get off schedule. I’ve set up alarms on my cell phone to remind me to eat, and that has been helpful.

That’s the scoop – hoping to get time to post a video or photos soon – life is SOOOO Crazy for me right now. But, that’s another amazing thing about Medifast. It works especially well for BUSY people.
