Australia’s Biggest Loser 2009

Here is this weeks motivational video!

Note: For those in the USA, here’s the conversion numbers for you: Tiffany’s starting weight was 250.5 pounds – Her ending weight is 131.2 pounds with a total loss of whopping 119.3 - All accomplished in only 12 (intensive) Weeks. WOW!

WEEK 8 Medifast

OK – I had this grand goal that I would be putting regular updates and photos here of my Medifast journey. I’ve fallen short on that. However, the good news is that I am keeping on track with my Take Shape For Life meal plan and my weight loss continues! Even on my tougher weeks, when I was sure I had “gained”, I’ve lost at least 1.8 lbs minimum. I will try to get photos up as soon as possible.

My start weight was 184.4 on July 27, 2009

As of Monday Sept. 21st, 2009 - WEEK 8 - My weight is 165.0.

Total weight loss of 19.4 Pounds.

I continue to lose even more inches! I started as a size 16, and I am now wearing a size 12 slacks & jeans, and size 10 dresses. I even made it into one of my size 8 dresses on Sunday, which was quite startling. It is just a little tight in the mid-section, so I am holding off wearing it for another week or two.

I have been averaging a 2 pound weight loss. That’s nothing to complain about, HOWEVER, I realize that I can ramp the numbers up big time if I start MOVING more. (I’ve realized this for a long time, but have been less than diligent with exercizing)

New Motivation!

New Motivation!

Monday was my goal to start exercizing seriously daily. Nothing fancy. Just walking. Imagine my excitement when I arrived home from work and found my brand new running shoes I ordered last week waiting for me! IT WAS A SIGN!

So, I laced up and headed out for an intense 45 minute walk with hubby and Joe Dog. We live in a very hilly neighborhood. The shoes fit so perfect and are as light as a feather. The former runner in me was itching to be released – so I started jogging slowly – UPHILL! It was amazing – I had so much energy, and now that I am nearly 20 pounds lighter, I really could do it! I kept going – made it up the entire hill – then decided I would see how long I could just keep jogging, and I pretty much kept the pace the entire 45 minutes. This is a HUGE victory for me. My ultimate goal is to be running again, and now I see this can be a reality. Whoo Hoo!

In other news, my Third Month order is on its way and should arrive on Friday. It’s hard to believe I have been at this for 2 solid months. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that in 8 weeks I haven’t had any bread or cereal or fruit (OK, I had some grapes once, and I had one banana a couple of weeks ago). Amazing that I am not too hungry. I only get cravings when I get off schedule. I’ve set up alarms on my cell phone to remind me to eat, and that has been helpful.

That’s the scoop – hoping to get time to post a video or photos soon – life is SOOOO Crazy for me right now. But, that’s another amazing thing about Medifast. It works especially well for BUSY people.

Humanthesizer

Scottish music producer Calvin Harris has created a techno-modern way to record disco using a little paint and a lot of beautiful women.

This definitely gives pause for that age-old question: “What will they think up next?”

SNL Justin Timberlake and Beyonce “Single Ladies” Parody

The SNL Skit poking fun of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” music video with Justin Timberlake made me laugh ’til I cried! According to one source, this much-sought-after skit was pulled from YouTube and NBC’s official SNL site due to a “Music Clearance” Issue. With all the slander and copyright infringement SNL naturally does in their daily line of “funny business”, that sure seems like lame double-speak to me! Anyway, whatever the real reason was, the video clip may be “officially” gone, but in today’s modern world that just means it’s one google click away, flooding the digital airwaves. You can’t hide something this good! Just like Timberlake, the skit is “Out”. So, sit back and enjoy the moves and grooves! (this almost convinces me to take a dance class) :)

Mother Mary Went The Distance

“As we celebrate this most joyful time of year, let’s not forget to pause and ponder the true reason for the season….” Read the rest of this excellent post HERE which discusses Mary, the Mother of Jesus being a fitness champion! What a woman!

This beautiful video, entitled “The Nativity” was produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Amy Grant’s song “Breath of Heaven” has been placed over the original soundtrack which fits beautifully.

The Little Black Dress Pays A Call

As a Follow up to my Prior Post – here is Deborah Voigt’s YouTube spoof on the ‘Little Black Dress’. If you haven’t heard this story, or need more details, please read my last post first, and then watch this video to fully appreciate!

Sisterhood of The Pants

The first mistake I made was to wear the white poplin pants.

However, when it is 95 degrees outside and you know your office is going to possibly be just under the boiling point, then you certainly reach for the white poplin pants. Normally, I hesitate wearing white because all women are conditioned that you instantly turn into the pillsbury dough-woman and then suddenly everyone will notice you are overweight. Whereas if you choose the black pants you will magically be viewed as a size 4. But, I was bold and decided ‘to heck with it all, I’m wearing the white poplin pants. I’m going to enjoy being cool in my fat!’ (more…)
